Appliqué on traced designs

Appliqué is one of those quilter passions that I believe we all enjoy.  There is some accuracy involved, but you can quickly and easily create a beautiful quilt top.

In this video I show you how I used Magnificent Ellie Elephant to create an appliqué design by tracing the pieces of the traced pattern.  Try saying that fast!

You'll need appliqué paper, a traced design (see the video here) or a printed quilt top.

As shown in the video, you'll need a mirror of the design on the wrong side of the fabric.  Think about this, or watch the video first to get a good understanding of why that is.  Yes, it did catch me out the first time!

I also show you my trick for when a cut appliqué piece isn't quite the right size.

All you need to do at the end of this video is decide whether you're gonna blanket stitch those pieces by hand, machine or do raw edge appliqué.  I've not decided yet, but I'll let you know when I do!

Lavender greetings!
